01 Systematic Unloading Process
Our devanning team works through containers methodically, counting each carton as it comes off and checking against your packing list in real time. We do not dump and count separately. Reconciliation happens during the unload so discrepancies are identified and photographed in context while the container is still on our dock.
02 Same-Day Damage Reporting
Any damaged cartons, wet goods, crushed pallets, or items with transit damage are set aside, photographed, and documented in a devanning exception report. You receive this report the same day the container is unloaded, with photographic evidence sufficient for a formal supplier claim or marine insurance claim.
03 Packing List Reconciliation
We reconcile your devanned quantities against your original packing list and purchase order line by line. Any short shipments, over-shipments, or wrong items are flagged immediately. You receive a reconciliation summary showing what was expected, what was received, and the variance for each SKU.
04 MAF Biosecurity Integration
Our Dalgety Drive facility is an MPI-approved transitional facility, which means containers can be devanned under biosecurity hold as part of the MPI inspection process. This avoids the need to move containers between facilities for compliance and devanning, saving you time and reducing your total import handling cost.
05 WMS Entry & Real-Time Visibility
All devanned goods are scanned into our WMS and put away into your designated storage locations the same day the container is unloaded. By the time our team closes out the devanning job, your customer portal inventory count has already been updated. There is no lag between physical receipt and system visibility.

How long does devanning take?
A standard 20-foot container typically takes 2 to 4 hours to devan depending on carton count and product type. A 40-foot container takes 4 to 8 hours. We will confirm the estimated timeframe for your specific container during scheduling.
What happens if there are damages or short shipments?
We document all damages and discrepancies with photographs on the day of devanning and provide you with a written exception report the same day. This documentation is suitable for use in supplier claims and marine insurance claims.
Can you devan containers that are under MPI biosecurity hold?
Yes. Our Dalgety Drive facility is MPI-approved and we can devan containers under biosecurity hold as part of the MPI inspection process. This is a key advantage for importers who need biosecurity compliance and devanning managed at the same location.
