Importing goods into New Zealand requires biosecurity compliance at the border. Before your goods can enter the New Zealand supply chain, containers must be inspected and cleared by the Ministry for Primary Industries. Not every warehouse is approved to hold goods under MPI biosecurity requirements.
Our Dalgety Drive, Wiri facility is fully approved as an MPI transitional facility. We are authorised to receive imported containers under biosecurity hold, manage MPI inspection requirements, and hold goods pending clearance within our secure Auckland warehouse.

01 Approved Transitional Facility Status
Our Dalgety Drive, Wiri facility holds MPI transitional facility approval, which authorises us to receive and hold imported goods under biosecurity requirements before they are cleared for entry into the New Zealand supply chain. This approval is actively maintained and audited by MPI. We can confirm our approval status in writing on request.
02 MPI Inspection Coordination
When your container arrives at our facility, we coordinate with MPI for the required biosecurity inspection. We manage the inspection appointment booking, ensure the container is presented in accordance with MPI requirements, and facilitate access for MPI inspectors. We communicate progress to you at every stage.
03 Hold & Release Management
If MPI places a biosecurity hold on your container, we manage the hold documentation, provide secure storage during the hold period, and coordinate with MPI for release once compliance requirements are met. We work alongside your customs broker to ensure all clearance documentation is accurate and submitted promptly.
04 Bonded Warehouse Capability
We provide bonded storage for goods that have entered New Zealand but have not yet cleared customs or are being held for duty-deferral purposes. Bonded goods are stored in a designated, secured area of our facility and released only when customs clearance is confirmed and release authority is received.
05 Customs Broker Coordination
We work alongside your nominated customs broker throughout the container clearance process. We do not provide customs brokerage ourselves, but we have established working relationships with NZ customs brokers and can manage the physical handling side of the clearance process while your broker manages the documentation and duty payment.

What is a MAF transitional facility?
An MPI transitional facility (formerly MAF) is an approved site where imported goods can be held and inspected for biosecurity compliance before being released into the New Zealand supply chain. Not all warehouses hold this approval.
Do you work with customs brokers?
Yes. We work alongside your nominated customs broker to coordinate inspections, hold procedures, and release documentation. We manage the physical handling at our facility while your broker handles customs documentation and duty payments.
