Hiabs

From warehousing to distribution, we handle your entire supply chain so you can focus on growth. Trusted by New Zealand’s leading eCommerce brands.

Specialist Hiab Services for Heavy Freight

Some freight cannot be safely unloaded with a standard tail lift. Machinery, industrial equipment, construction materials, and other oversized or heavy goods require a Hiab crane truck for safe delivery and placement. Using the wrong equipment creates risk for your driver, your goods, and your client’s site.

We arrange Hiab crane truck services for freight that requires specialist lifting. Our team coordinates the booking, confirms site access requirements, and manages delivery logistics to ensure your heavy goods arrive safely and on time.

Your warehousing and fulfilment requirements are unique. We would love to hear about them.

At Store Rite, We Are Experienced and Reliable Professionals for Hiabs

01 When You Need a Hiab

Hiab services are required when goods are too heavy for a standard tail lift, too large to manoeuvre manually from a truck deck, or when placement precision at the delivery point requires crane positioning. Common applications include machinery delivery, modular building components, heavy fabricated items, and large commercial equipment.

Before we dispatch a Hiab to your delivery address, we require information about the site. This includes vehicle access dimensions, overhead clearances for the crane boom, ground bearing capacity at the pick and place points, and any specific placement requirements. Getting this right before arrival avoids costly failed delivery attempts.

Hiab crane trucks are operated by qualified operators holding current Hiab endorsements and working under our carrier’s health and safety procedures. All lifts are conducted to NZ WorkSafe requirements for crane operations. We do not compromise on operator qualification for any lifting work we arrange.

Hiab services require more advance booking than standard freight due to specialist vehicle and operator availability. We recommend providing at least 48 to 72 hours notice for Hiab requirements. For urgent requirements, contact us directly and we will confirm the earliest available slot across our carrier network.

When Hiab freight originates from one of our warehouse facilities, we coordinate the outbound loading and dispatch as part of our standard despatch workflow. Heavy items are staged on the dock and loaded by our forklift team to the Hiab truck, with outbound documentation processed through our WMS and inventory updated immediately on despatch.
